Image upload issues
Having trouble uploading photos to the try-on modal? Here are the common causes and solutions.
Supported image formats
MirrorNex supports the following image formats:
- JPG/JPEG – Most common, works great
- PNG – Supported, but larger files may be slower
- WebP – Modern format, supported
Not supported: HEIC (iPhone default), GIF, BMP, TIFF, RAW formats
File size limits
Maximum file size: 10MB
If your image is too large, try:
- Taking a new photo at lower resolution
- Using an image compression tool online
- Resizing the image before uploading
Common upload errors
"File type not supported"
The image format isn't compatible. iPhones often save photos in HEIC format by default. To fix:
- On iPhone: Go to Settings → Camera → Formats → Select "Most Compatible"
- Already have HEIC files: Convert them to JPG using an online converter
"File too large"
The image exceeds 10MB. Compress or resize the image before uploading.
"Upload failed"
This can happen due to network issues. Try:
- Checking your internet connection
- Refreshing the page and trying again
- Using a different browser
Mobile upload tips
For customers uploading from mobile devices:
- Use the camera option for best results – it captures in a compatible format
- If selecting from gallery, ensure the photo is in JPG format
- Portrait orientation photos work best
Tip for store owners: Add a note near the try-on button suggesting customers use JPG photos for best results, especially if you notice high failure rates.
